Aligned Paths connects learners and students to tutors, teachers, and academic coaches who specialize in working with those with ADHD and/or ASD.
All of our service providers have experience in working with ADHD and/or ASD (many of whom have ADHD and/or ASD themselves), and we provide services to our clients from people who truly get it.
By supporting more people with ASD and ADHD access supportive education systems, and reach success, we believe that it is not only the student, but whole society, that benefits.
We initially started off as a counselling business, and we worked primarerly to serve those from underserved communities, including neurodivergent people. However, it became apparent that many of those coming to us for service needed something beyond counselling: they needed assistance in their education, or had a desire to learn a new skill. However, it was incredibly challenging to find places to refer these clients, for them to meet their educational needs: very few companies provide services centered around supporting those with ADHD and ASD.
Even when it was possible to find places to refer clients, many of the companies were charging very high rates (sometimes, over $100/h), which can be unaccessible for many people. Additionally, many adults looking to learn a new skill can hesitate when they are unsure that the instructor will meet their needs (for instance, an adult who wants to take a music class, but may feel they need consideration due to ADHD and/or ASD in the lesson delivery, may hesitate to start lessons).
Therefore, Aligned Paths was born; we aim to provide educational services, specialized to those with ADHD and ASD, at more accessible rates.
The industry standard is for a commission rate of between 25%-85% to be charged, by the tutoring company. We achieve accessible rates, by charging significantly lower commission than most tutoring companies. For example, there are many companies that charge $80-150/h, while paying their tutors minimum wage. This is not only expensive to students, learners and families, but we believe it devalues the education, experience and time of the service providers.
However, at Aligned Paths, in support and respect of both those we serve, and our providers, we keep our rates lower by charger significantly lower commission than industry standard.
Meanwhile, we ensure that those working with us are committed to providing high-quality care, that centers the needs of neurodiverse clients.
