Questions? We have answers!!

To schedule a lesson:

- Sign in to the account. Go to "Teachers," which will open a list of teachers registered on the portal.
- Select a teacher with whom you want to schedule a lesson and go to his/her profile.
- Students can now either book a free trial session or purchase a lesson.
- Booking a free trial will open the availability calendar of the teacher, if the teacher offers a free trial. Students can then select a date and time from the calendar and confirm the booking.
- To purchase a lesson, students are required to make the payment and further schedule the lesson according to the teacher's availability.
- To get started on the platform, students are required to register with their email account and verify it by clicking the link sent to their email address.
- After verification, students can log in and set up their profile by adding a picture, phone number, country, timezone, etc.
- Students can then search for teachers based on their requirements by entering the subject or course name.

Note that, we do not require teachers to provide trial lessons; at Aligned Paths, we value the time of our service providers, and have a strong policy that "nobody works for free." Requiring service provider to give a free trial lesson is, essentially, asking somebody to provide a service without compensation. Please also consider that that our rates are already significantly below industry standard, and this is because we value fairness, and accessibility for everyone; this includes our tutors.

We will do our best, to give you insight on who might be the best fit!
Some of our tutors offer trial sessions, and others do not.
- Trial sessions are the initial meetings between the teachers and students, serving as a way of exchanging introductions.
- Trial sessions last for 15 minutes (set by the admin) and are free of cost. Students can book trial lessons by:
- Finding a teacher they want to book a trial with.
- On the teacher's detailed information page, they will see a 'Book Free Trial' button.
- Clicking the 'Book Free Trial' button will open the availability calendar, allowing the selection of a date and time for the trial sessions.
- Click 'Book Lesson', which will redirect to the checkout page where you need to 'Confirm Order'. Your trial lesson is then booked.
- The system allows each student to take one trial lesson per teacher.
Yes! We ask that you have at least 3 hours a week available. After that, it's up to you. We aim to be flexible, to not only the students, but also to you.

We only ask that you provide 24h notice to cancel a scheduled lesson, and you may otherwise simply work when suits you best.
Right now, for tax purposes, all of our tutors, coaches and teachers must live in BC or Canada.
As long as you remain a BC resident, you may conduct lessons temporarily outside of the country, if you are on vacation.
As a newer company, we are still learning the rules around taxes, insurance, and all of that. In the near future, we will be exploring options around accepting applications from
-people authorized to work in Canada, but who live abroad.
-people intending to leave Canada, for longer than a vacation, who intend to work
- people located outside of British Columbia.

We value flexibility, and that includes for our service providers!

However, right now, you must currently be a BC resident.
We will be up-front with you: no.

At Aligned Paths, we must approve you to teach, any listed subject on your profile; we carefully assess all of your skills, training, credentials, and interests to approve you for the subjects listed.
While we sensibly consider all requests, we may not always approve you for all of the subjects you requested, and this is at our discretion.
If you desire to add a subject, that is not initially approved, we invite you to reach out to us at info@aligned-paths.com. We will notify you that we received your email, and we will review your request in two weeks; only if the request is approved, will we reach out to you, to confirm that we are adding it to your profile.

However, the platform allows you to pick your own subjects, and this cannot be changed. Please respect this policy, and only add subjects for which you have been approved; we may also conduct occasional reviews, to ensure this policy is followed.
Yes, currently LessonSpace does allow this. However, you must have written consent from the student to utilize this feature. You must also upload this document, stating consent to record, to the student's file.
Recording a student, without their consent, is a serious violation of student privacy, and is means for termination of your contract.
Yes, the platform is mobile responsive and can be used on a mobile device. However, there is no mobile app for it currently.
Please note that, if delivering your lesson from a cell phone instead of a computer could compromise your lesson quality, we advise that you use your computer.
